Media was banned from the port of Ashdod, Israel while Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, went yachting aboard his 300-foot superyacht, the Tatoosh.

The Jerusalem Post reports:

The founder of the software giant, multi-billion dollar American tycoon Paul G. Allen, arrived here last Friday and flew by helicopter directly from Ben-Gurion Airport to his 300-foot yacht, the Tatoosh, which was docked at the Ashdod port.

A spokesman for the Ashdod Port, which is the sole port in Israel large enough to accommodate such a private mega-yacht, said Allen's helicopter landed directly on one of the two pads on the fifth deck of the Tatoosh. The ship, with its 30-person crew, had been in Ashdod since Wednesday, and sailed out with Allen on board on Saturday.

Allen is expected to sail the Tatoosh to visit a marine archaeological site in the area.

The Tatoosh is the 26th-largest superyacht in the world, and was reportedly purchased by Allen in 2001 for $100 million.

The boat includes a movie theater, two helicopter facilities, five decks, a lobster tank, a six-foot deep swimming pool, and a saloon with a French limestone fireplace.

Allen also owns the 416-foot Octopus.
