The Obamas were vigilant about date night before they moved to Washington, and thankfully they haven't let the tradition slip since moving to Washington. Whether they're flying to New York to take in a Broadway show or stepping out in D.C. to toast 17 years of marriage, this first couple clearly knows how to keep the fire alive. In January Michelle spoke with CNN's Roland Martin about date night as "part of the reminder that this family is not just two folks raising kids, but it's two people building a life together." She then put a message out to "All the parents out there, have your date nights. It's important for kids to know that their parents are connecting."
