A mix of New York's foodie establishment and the downtown social scene came out Tuesday night to help chef Susur Lee celebrate the one-year anniversary of his restaurant, Shang, in the Thompson LES Hotel.
Lee presented a traditional Chinese banquet featuring a feast of 16 specialty dishes to guests ranging from restaurateurs Drew Nieporent and Todd English to "It Girls" Becka Diamond and Byrdie Bell.
Shang opened last year to much fanfare, as it marked Lee's debut in the United States. The Hong Kong native is a celebrated chef in Toronto, where he owns two restaurants. He has since opened Zentan in Washington, DC.
