Pong Prom: Play Pong While You Slow Dance (VIDEO)

For all of the nerds-in-love who proposed marriage via video game, here's one more way to combine your love interest and your passion for gaming: Pong Prom.

Ed Keeble, the designer, describes Pong Prom as, "an art project which uses smart textiles to allow participants to play pong together by slow dancing."

The 'players' wear hooded shirts equipped with display panels, and control the Pong paddles by moving their swaying partner side-to-side as they dance.

Here's a description of how it works, via the Department of Covert Athletics:

The project uses the Lilypad Arduino platform to control game play, run the display, and communicate between devices. Patches of conductive fabric on the shoulders, hips, and cuffs of the shirts are used to create a serial connection between the Arduinos. An accelerometer attached at the back of the neck allows each player to control their game paddle by rocking their partner back and forth.
