Haiti Telethon Time: When Haiti Telethon Airs May Differ By Time Zone (INFO)

The Hope For Haiti telethon time was officially 8 p.m. Eastern, though the telethon will also air in its entirety on some networks at 8 p.m. local time (Pacific or Mountain), and 7 p.m. Central Time for those out west. It's best to check your local listings.

The event is in progress as of this post and those interested can also watch it live online via the link above.

The telethon, that will go to support relief efforts in Haiti, originated after a phone call between George Clooney and MTV Networks CEO Judy McGrath. The event has now ballooned into what may be one of the largest and most far-reaching international telethons of all time. The show will be hosted by Clooney in Los Angeles, Haitian-born Wyclef Jean in New York City, and CNN's Anderson Cooper in Haiti.

The Huffington Post will be broadcasting the telethon live at 8:00 p.m. ET, as well as compiling updated tweets from organizations on the ground in Haiti and media personalities appearing on the show. Follow @HuffImpact on Twitter and our lists of organizations in Haiti and celebs in the telethon to stay updated.

The funds raised will be split evenly among seven organizations working in Haiti: UNICEF, the United Nations World Food Programme, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Oxfam, the American Red Cross, Partners in Health and Yéle Haiti, a foundation formed by Wyclef Jean.
