Kay Bailey Hutchison Left In Rick Perry's Dust In Texas Gubernatorial Primary

With just seven days left in what was expected to be the marquee primary fight of the 2010 election, Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R) remains stuck behind Gov. Rick Perry (R) in a campaign that even her most ardent supporters acknowledge has been decidedly disappointing.

Polling done over the past few weeks shows Perry with a double digit lead and it seems as though Hutchison's only hope is that Debra Medina, a far right candidate running in the primary, can siphon off enough of the vote to keep the Governor under 50 percent of the vote and force a runoff on April 13.
