Inside The Inner Circle Of Mystery Writers

Linda Fairstein grew up reading mysteries and loving them -- Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett -- but she became a prosecutor in New York City and spent a lot of time as an assistant district attorney in charge of the sex-crimes unit. Now she's best known as the author of the Alex Cooper series of mysteries and the twelfth book in that series, Hell Gate, is just out now. She got on the line with wOw's own Lesley Stahl and told Lesley that when she started her career as a lawyer she couldn't even get close to the kinds of cases that she now writes about in her books.
