Christiane Amanpour has gone from "50/50" to "close to a deal" with ABC.
The New York Times' Bill Carter reports that the CNN international correspondent is "is close to concluding a deal" to become the host of ABC's Sunday morning public affairs show, "This Week."
Earlier this week, it was reported that Amanpour had been offered the job and was "50/50" as to whether she would accept it.
Carter adds that Amanpour "had been convinced she could make the switch from international to political reporting."
FishBowlDC had reported that Amanpour would like to take the show in a more international direction and to produce it from New York, where she lives, rather than Washington, where it is produced now.
Carter reports that a deal could be announced as early as Thursday.
