President Obama on Saturday made 15 recess appointments, using his power to unilaterally install top officials in his government when the Senate isn't in session. (See related article.)
But there are still about 200 of Obama's judicial and civilian nominations pending in the Senate. Some of them have been held up by obstructionist Republicans for a very long time. And the Senate is in recess until April 12.
