Senators Vote To Strip Embattled Real Estate Regulator Erin Toll Of Numerous Powers

A Senate committee moved Wednesday to strip numerous powers from embattled real estate regulator Erin Toll by approving an oversight board to discipline mortgage brokers and giving her boss more say over how Toll's division is run.

The amendments put House Bill 1141 on a collision course with co-sponsor and Speaker of the House Terrance Carroll, who believes the changes should be addressed in a separate bill.
