Shaun Rogers has been arrested after bringing a gun into an airport. The Cleveland Browns defensive tackle says he forgot he was carrying the firearm, which was reportedly in a bag. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the gun was loaded at the time of the incident. He was detained at Hopkins Airport near Cleveland.
Browns president Mike Holmgren issued a statement in which he said the team "will continue to gather additional information, and until the legal process has taken its course, we will reserve any further comment."
As a member of the Detroit Lions, Rogers was suspended for four games in 2006 for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He is a three-time Pro Bowl member and signed a six-year, $42-million contract with Cleveland in 2008.
