Oklahoma Tornado: Shelters Set Up For The Newly Homeless

The American Red Cross has set up two shelters for those whose homes were damaged in yesterdays tornadoes, responsible for five deaths and injuring dozens more. The town of Norman saw extensive damage, with cars overturned, homes destroyed and trees down, CNN reports.

Red Cross volunteers from Texas have traveled to Oklahoma to help overwhelmed local volunteers. Emergency crews from the area are urging people to stay off the roads whenever possible.

The American Red Cross reports that Disaster Action Teams have been deployed to the areas of Oklahoma hit hardest by the many tornadoes.
