Colorado Medical Marijuana: Municipalities Wade Into Hazy Debate Over Regulations

Since the Colorado Legislature began debating the hot-button issue of medical marijuana and how to regulate its controversial new industry, towns and cities across the state have been in a holding pattern, just waiting to see what happens at the state level.

Now, however, the governor's pen is hovering inches above a bill that will bring at least some clarity to the hazy fog that has surrounded medical marijuana ever since voters legalized it in 2000. And one of the more significant aspects of the bill says that Colorado municipalities and counties can regulate the industry any way they choose.
