The NBA Playoffs' final series between the Lakers and the Celtics continued to dominate viewer interest Tuesday night, with Game 3 on ABC drawing a night-winning 18-49 demo rating of 4.9, along with an average of 11.5 million viewers across its two hours in primetime, according to Nielsen data.
Game 3, won by the Lakers, was up 17 percent from the comparable Game 3 last year in the 18-49 demo.
The season finale of Fox's "Glee" was second on the night in adults 18-49 with a 4.6.
While "Glee" beat NBC's "America's Got Talent" in the 9 p.m. hour in the 18-49 demo, "Talent" not only won the time period but won the night as the most-watched show, averaging 13 million viewers. "Talent" also scored a solid 3.7 18-49 rating in the hour, up 3 percent from last week, but that was third behind "Glee" and Game 3, which also averaged a 4.6 to tie "Glee" during the hour.
Compared to its performance last week, "Glee" was up 18 percent among viewers 18-49 and up 21 percent in total viewers.
CBS, as always, did well among viewers, finishing second on the night overall to ABC, averaging 9.1 million viewers from 8-11 p.m., compared to ABC's 10.5 million. But while ABC won the night overall among the 18-49 demo, averaging a 4.3, CBS was fourth in the demo with a 1.6, clearly indicating that CBS' drama repeats were watched by older viewers.
The combination of "Glee" at 9 and "Hell's Kitchen" at 8 enabled Fox to finish second on the night among viewers 18-49, averaging a 3.9.
A repeat of the CBS drama "NCIS" was the most viewed scripted show of the night, averaging 11.1 million viewers from 8-9 p.m., nudging out "Glee," which averaged 10.9 million.
The new NBC spinoff of "The Biggest Loser," "Losing it With Jillian," drew only 7.5 million viewers at 8 and a 2.1 18-49 rating at 8 p.m. "Hell's Kitchen" won that hour in 18-49, averaging a 3.2.More from The Wrap:
