Cass Forkin's Twilight Wish Foundation Makes Dreams Come True For Seniors

Although she had a successful career as a health care executive, Cass Forkin felt unfulfilled and yearned for a way to give back.

One day, after offering to pay for lunch for a group of elderly women dining at the same restaurant, Forkin found her calling. Inspired by that incident, she founded the Twilight Wish Foundation, an organization making wishes come true for seniors over age 68, who can't afford to help themselves.

For many, the wishes address real medical needs. In the case of Claire Maser, a 76-year-old woman who broke her hip at a young age, special shoes to correct the two inch difference between her two legs would be out of reach without help from the Twilight Wish Foundation.

The Bucks County Courier Times reports that over the past seven years, Forkin has made 1,400 wishes come true for struggling seniors. She has brought dreams to life for seniors wanting to ride on a parade float, fly in a fighter plane or be serenaded by a pop star.

Currently, Forkin is working to find a way to help a West Virginian man in need of a glass eye. Medicare won't cover the $3,000 cost to replace the man's current glass eye, one that isn't working properly.
