Erik Osborn, Disgraced Developer, Never Paid City $1.2 Million He Owed For Affordable Housing

Denver officials may have violated the city's affordable housing laws when they approved developer Erik Osborn's plans to build the One Lincoln Park residential tower downtown - without first nailing down a contract for money he owed the city. Osborn has been convicted of felony theft for stealing money from One Lincoln Park and other luxury condo projects throughout the city; several court rulings have found he has stiffed contractors and partners millions in payments and fees. An inquiry by Face the State has found that Osborn also failed to pay $1.2 million he promised to the city as part of a deal to allow One Lincoln Park to opt-out of affordable housing requirements.
