Oil Spill Clean Up PHOTOS: On The Ground Efforts To Clean Spill

PHOTOS: The Latest Images Of Gulf Cleanup

As oil continues to increasingly wash ashore on more beaches and marshland along the Gulf coast, clean up efforts continue in an effort to mitigate the catastrophic damages.

The oil spill began after an explosion at a BP offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20. Various teams have been working together to clean up the disaster and protect the environment.

The oil spill has become the worst oil spill in history, surpassing the damage done by the Exxon Valdez tanker that spilled 11 million gallons of oil into the ecologically sensitive Prince William Sound in 1989.

Here are photos of the ongoing oil spill cleanup.
