France vs. South Africa: World Cup Battle Could Be Nations' Last Stand

France and South Africa meet in a World Cup showdown Tuesday at 10:00 AM ET. Both countries have struggled in the tournament, and France has neared a complete meltdown: its star striker was sent home and players refused to practice in protest of the dismissal. The team has been ripped at home and even soccer legend Zinedine Zidane has joined the negative commentary.

Neither team is completely out of the tournament, however. Either country could advance with a win, but a lot would have to go right. First, they would need Mexico and Uruguay to avoid a draw. Moreover, the winner of the France-South Africa match would need to overcome the goal differential of the loser of Mexico-Uruguay.
