Below is a video of Hans Rosling talking about world population and the challenges that we face globally, as well as the potential solution. He is Professor of International Health at Karolinska Institute and Director of the Gapminder Foundation.
Rosling stresses that the world's poorest people, who struggle to find food on a daily basis, also have the highest rates of childbirth. The real solution, he says, is for the poorest countries to advance economically and improve their current conditions. He also points out that as countries continue to advance to a higher state of prosperity and child deaths decrease, the need for more children decreases and the birthrate evens out to a manageable level.
