In the middle of a Copa Sudamericana tournament match last Wednesday between the Colombian team Deportes Tolima and the Bolivian club Oriente Petrolero, a hard tackle put one player in the hospital. Tolima's Jhon Hurtado and Oriente's Francisco Arguello both went for the ball close to midfield. Arguello got to the ball first and kicked it away, but the bottom of Hurtado's foot nailed the Paraguayan midfielder in the leg and fractured his right tibia and fibula. Hurtado received a yellow card for the tackle, but Tolima went on to win 2-0. Scroll down to watch the video of the gruesome injury.
