Via Curbed LA: This Italianate/Mediterranean home in Los Feliz was designed by architect Clarence J. Smale in 1924. The four bedroom, three bathroom home has 4,081 square feet of living space and sits a block away from Los Feliz Boulevard. The original listing describes the home's "original Hollywood glamour;" it has marble floors, a grand staircase, and other "period details." Although the price of the home doesn't reflect a fixer-upper, the original listing also says it is "waiting to be polished."
Smale is known mostly for his classic cinema theater architecture, but a quick glance at the Cinema Treasures architecture site shows that all of his theaters have either been converted into churches and office buildings or demolished to make room for parking lots.
