In the second inning of Texas' 10-3 win over the New York Yankees in Game 4 of the ALCS on Tuesday night, the right field umpire made a controversial call on Robinson Cano's home run off Rangers pitcher Tommy Hunter.
The Yankees second baseman hit one to right field and Texas' Nelson Cruz attempted a leaping catch, but three New York fans went for the ball and hit his glove.
Right-field umpire Jim Reynolds called it a home run. Despite a visit from Texas manager Ron Washington and protests from Cruz, the home run was not reviewed.
The Yankees fan who snagged the ball, a 20-year-old named Jared Macchirole, told ESPNNewYork that it was definitely a home run.
