Apple Announcement LIVE Video: Streaming Of Apple Event Available

Apple is scheduled to make an announcement at its "Back to the Mac" event being held at 10AM PT on Wednesday, October 20.

Didn't score an invitation? The company has just announced that it will be offering a live video stream of the press conference via its website, Apple.com.

Fortune reports Apple PR made the following announcement:

Apple® will broadcast its October 20 event online using Apple's industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac® running Safari® on Mac OS® X version 10.6 Snow Leopard®, an iPhone® or iPod touch® running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad™. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on October 20, 2010 at www.apple.com.

As we wrote here, there has been buzz that Apple will unveil a new MacBook air, a new operating system (allegedly codenamed "Lion"), and revamped versions of iWork and iLife.

Apple previously offered live video of its press conference in September.

Check if you can see the video using this HTTP Live sample stream. MacRumors has a full list of the requirements, as well as information on workarounds so that you can access the video.
