After several grand opening delays, it's finally happening: Chef Graham Elliot's new River North sandwich shop Grahamwich opened today.
"Everyone speaks 'sandwich' - one part tasty filling; two parts bready goodness," Elliot said in a statement. "While it might not change your life, it will certainly brighten your day."
Grahamwich is located at 615 N. State Street in the historic Tree Studio Building, and opened at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Grahamwich's menu of eight sandwiches include a Beef Shortrib sandwich with baby watercress, shoestring potatoes, pickled shallots and creamy horseradish on pretzel bread; a Pastrami Reuben with rutabaga sauerkraut, toasted caraway, gruyere fondue and 1,000 island dressing on marble rye as well as Turkey Confit with candied yams, stewed cranberries, field greens and sage mayo on a dinner roll.
The new sandwich spot is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until late. Also, it's cash only.
