World Story Of The Year: Which Do You Choose?

Haiti's devastating earthquake kicked off what was to be a truly turbulent year in global news. But the last year of the first decade of the 21st century was marked by other world events -- some monumental, others devastating.

"Cablegate" broke in late fall and continues full-force, with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange finding himself simultaneously adored and maligned among the planet's most powerful figures as the year comes to a close.
