Penny And The Quarters are a lost soul group from Columbus Ohio. A foursome, presumably teenagers, they recorded three rehearsals sometime in the first half of the seventies at Harmonic Sounds Studio only to fall shortly thereafter into total and utter obscurity.
Forty years later, the recorded rehearsals turned up at an estate sale in Columbus and fell into the hands of Ryan Gosling. Gosling, who was developing Blue Valentine, was smitten by the track and suggested it to director Derek Cianfrance as the song meant to spark the love between the film's two leads. The Weinstein Company and Lakeshore Records have created and released an exclusive music video for "You and Me" by Penny and the Quarters, which you can check out below.
