Arctic Monkeys unexpectedly unveiled a new track, entitled "Brick By Brick," and the accompanying video via their website and Youtube channel. The band is currently in the studio working on their fourth album though they haven't disclosed any details concerning its release. There has been no confirmation yet as to whether or not the song will appear on the album.
The video shows a winsome girl jamming out to a vinyl of the Monkeys' clangorous new effort which roars from The Wall-era Pink Floyd to vintage Oasis. This is intercut with seemingly obligatory cruising-down-the-highway and band-on-the-beach shots before finally ending with the pressing of the record itself.
Despite its heavy classic rock influence, the song seems closer in spirit to Arctic Monkeys' frenetic first two albums rather than the haunted house spook of the third. A shot towards the end of the video reveals that the song was pressed on 1/27/11 and that it was produced by James Ford. Check it out below.
