Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who is visiting Afghanistan this week to evaluate military progress, met up with General David Petraeus, head of U.S. forces in the war-torn nation. Petraeus greeted Gates by saying:
"Welcome back, sir, flying a little bigger plane than normal ... you gonna launch some attacks on Libya or something?"
Gates, apparently also unaware that their conversation was being caught on video, responded, "Yeah, exactly."
The two were joking about the ongoing anti-Gaddafi rebellion in Libya. Currently, the U.S. is considering a no-fly zone as well as other military options but has not released a definitive plan of action.
