Larry Carillo, Ex-Larimer GOP Chair, Admits He Knew Party Wasn't Filing Campaign Finance Reports

A former Larimer County Republican Party treasurer and his wife signed for five certified letters last year notifying the party of delinquent campaign finance reports and said he passed the letters on unopened to the party chairman.

The then-chairman, Larry Carillo, said he didn't open the certified letters because he suspected the contents - notification from the secretary of state that the party hadn't filed reports required by law to let the public know who was donating to the county GOP, and how the party was spending its money.
