Update: Daphne spoke to Vogue UK about the situation, saying, "I feel absolutely miserable about it all. I would never call anyone a name, and definitely not her. You wouldn't believe how nice she is in reality. She's a great mum too - you can see from the photos how much those boys love her." Read the rest at Vogue.co.uk.
Previously: Today in fashion feuds: it's Daphne Guinness vs. Victoria Beckham.
Apparently, in an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine, which we can't see because we're not shelling out for a subscription, Guinness was quoted by reporter Camilla Long as saying:
"[Beckham is] an ugly pig!" says the heiress. "Downbeat, miserable and awful. Of course she's going to make money -- she's backed by Simon Fuller. I don't have anyone! She annoys the shit out of me."
@_tokyostar I am so sad stitched up by the sunday times. I thought c. long was a friend. I would never call anyone an ugly cow, not my words
@davidmtt I feel like killing myself, I have been stabbed in the back by that journalist
@davidmtt the article was AWFUL, really inaccurate, I work so hard ang this is the kind of shoddy treatment you get. I am beyond hoffified
@adam_dadson the journalist I knew from Issie, so i thought she would understand things, we had been friends, she has put words in my mouth
the video is amazing and I adore working on all these things. I just hate having to talk about myself. Camilla Long is Brutus
And for the record I not only admire Victoria Beckham but know her and like her. My point was that I do most things alone without a backer.
@TamieAdaya THE WHOLE THING IS A MESS... i did it as a favour
@rudykatoch @davidmtt @camillalong journalists. very few with integrity she did not even fact check. pathetic
Long hasn't responded to Daphne's comments. And neither has Victoria. But "ugly pig"? Please. That's so not Daphne.
