Bill Bratton On Dodger Stadium Security

Bill Bratton On Dodger Stadium Attack: 'I Was Very Disturbed' (VIDEO)

While former LAPD Chief Bill Bratton has been hired to assess security measures at Dodger Stadium in the wake of Bryan Stow's severe beating, he clarified to NBC LA that the circumstances leading up to the attack will not be a part of the investigation. "Our survey, our report if you will, will not focus on that incident. That's a criminal matter being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department." Instead, he'll be concentrating on security and police officers, surveillance cameras, and parking lot lighting.

Bratton will also be considering a proposal put forth by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, police chief Charlie Beck, and the Los Angeles City Council on ways to improve security at the stadium. The measures include promoting a family-friendly environment by curbing alcohol sales.

The LA Times reports that the Dodger Stadium has been without a full-time security chief since December 2010, and that this was the first time the Los Angeles Dodgers have opened their season without one since 2005.
