'The Stare': James Franco, Winona Ryder In New Film

James Franco, Winona Ryder Set For Psycho Thriller

Winona Ryder is going crazy. Having James Franco around probably doesn't help, either.

Deadline reports that, Franco and Ryder have signed on to star in "The Stare," a new film about a playwright (Ryder) who begins to hallucinate and become paranoid as she struggles to get her newest production off the ground. Franco will play one of the actors in her production, according to Deadline; he is a student of director Jay Anania, who heads the acting program at NYU, one of many universities that Franco attends.

It's yet another project for Franco; the Oscar host has a large number of films and productions scheduled for the rest of 2011. He'll star with Mila Kunis in the new Disney "Wizard of Oz" prequel is making his major directorial debut with the serial killer thriller "The Night Stalker," and plans to hit the Broadway stage this fall with Nicole Kidman in "Sweet Birth of Youth."

Franco also just starred in the box office bust comedy "Your Highness," and will appear this summer in "The Rise of the Planet of the Apes.".

Ryder just came off a strong supporting performance in "Black Swan," and featured in the Kevin James/Vince Vaughn film "The Dilemma."
