Speculation, Survival & Shepard: Highlights This Week

It's been quite a week in arts news: a series of contemporary art auctions at Christie's, Sotheby's and Philips de Pury proved the art market is far from dead. Cannes kicked off with Woody Allen's latest and a scandal erupted when Carla Bruni decided to not attend, prompting speculation over her possible pregnancy. A Chinese artist stunned with a live sex performance, Shepard Fairey impressed with his political views, we mourned the loss of a photojournalist and celebrated the survival and bravery of burn victims. These are our highlights this week; what were yours?
