This weekend, you will dance. We don't care that it's "cold" outside and you don't feel like it. With great music from the 323 to the 310, you have no excuse.
What: Rammstein concert - stock up on lozenges.
Why: Because it's awesome that this metal band is providing Prince with a break from his residency.
Where: The Forum, 3900 W. Manchester Boulevard at Prairie Avenue, Inglewood (310-330-7300 or www.thelaforum.com)
What: Venice Art Walk, a weekend with a pedigree.
Why: Some of the best artists in America will be represented, and the house tours are an aspirational delight.
When: Friday through Sunday
Where: Various points around Venice and West LA. Check the website for details.
What: Hipster art show American Opinion #4.
Why: Because all the cool kids in the Valley will be there, drinking beers and feeling sassy because the Rapture didn't go down.
When: 7pm to 9pm.
Where: 15100 Keswick Avenue, Van Nuys
What: Les Nubians, a duo that sounds like Sade, except French-er and sexier.
Why: Because for a band that veers toward the slow jams, they've got a lot of musical cred.
Where: The Conga Room at LA Live (213-745-0162 or congaroom.com)
What: Steve Earle - reading this time, not singing.
Why: The jack of all artistic trades has been songwriting for years, and now he's trying his hand at prose. He'll be reading from his book "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive."
Where: Bootleg Theatre, 2220 Beverly Boulevard at Rosemont Avenue (213-389-3856 or www.bootlegtheater.org)
What: Silver Lake Jubilee
Why: To support arts and athletics programs for kids -- and also dancing to local bands, and being entertained by people like Kate Micucci and Jerry Stahl, and eating food truck snacks.
When: Saturday till 10pm and Sunday till 8pm
Where: Various points around Silver Lake's Sunset Junction
