Katie Couric Lunches With Diane Sawyer, The 'GMA' Team And A Bevy Of ABC News Stars

Guess Who Katie Couric Had Lunch With Today?

It's surely the burning question of the summer (for a very specific group of people, at least): how will new kid Katie Couric fit in at ABC News? The former CBS anchor has landed there, and, from what The Huffington Post hears, an effort is being made to make her feel like one of the gang. Example one? Tuesday's mega-power lunch held just for her.

On Tuesday afternoon, Couric—who will have both a syndicated talk show and a presence within ABC News itself—sat down to grab a bite at the Rosa Mexicano restaurant at Lincoln Center, right near ABC News' headquarters. Joining her for her fine dining experience? Just about every top ABC News star who isn't on "Nightline" and/or out of the country.

Among the people there: Diane Sawyer, Christiane Amanpour, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Elizabeth Vargas, Chris Cuomo, David Muir and ABC News president Ben Sherwood, who set up the bash. A veritable who's who of ABC talent! We bet Katie didn't even have to pay for her entree.

It's anyone's guess what they discussed, or if they all had margaritas and Diane Sawyer started doing her Richard Nixon impressions again*—but presumably conversations about how Couric can best use her talents as a utility player to pitch in around the office were at the top of the agenda.

*No, we don't know if she actually does them.
