In typical Ricky Gervais fashion, the promo for his upcoming BBC2 series "Life's Too Short" combines the perfect amount of genuine charm and awkward evasiveness to leave viewers both utterly confused and wanting to see more.
What we do learn from the short teaser is that Gervais' new comedy series, which he's writing with partner-in-crime Stephen Merchant, will be a documentary-style sitcom in the same vein as "Extras" and "The Office." Warwick Davis, who guest-starred in an episode of "Extras" as Gervais' overbearing rival, will take the lead in "Life's Too Short" as a "fictionalized version of himself" heading up the talent agency Dwarves for Hire, according to the BBC. Gervais and Merchant will also appear as themselves.
In Gervais' words: "Third in our trilogy of TV sitcoms, Life's Too Short is another naturalist observational comedy, dealing with everyday problems, human foibles and social faux pas... But with a dwarf."
"Life's Too Short" is set to premier on BBC2 sometime later this year. In the meantime, check out the promo:
