Winklevoss Twins Won't Take Facebook Case To Supreme Court

Winklevoss Twins Back Down On Facebook Lawsuit

It appears the lengthy legal dispute between Facebook and twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss may be finally coming to an end.

Though the Winklevoss twins had initially indicated they would appeal a recent ruling to the Supreme Court, documents filed Wednesday indicated that the plaintiffs had decided not to move forward with the appeal.

The Winklevoss' seven-year legal battle with Facebook centered first around their claim that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stole their idea for the social networking site and, later, that the company misled them about the value of its stock in a 2008 settlement that awarded the Winklevoss brothers around $65 million in cash and stock.

A federal appeals court ruled against the twins earlier this year and they had planned to challenge its decision to uphold the 2008 settlement.

A filing submitted by the Winklevoss twins and Divya Narendra noted, "appellants do not intend to seek further appellate review."

A Facebook spokesperson said of the latest developments in the lawsuit, "We've considered this case closed for a long time, and we're pleased to see the other party now agrees."
