Men's Health magazine has recently published their “100 Most and Least Active Cities In America” listing and Colorado cities hold three spots.
In the Most Active top ten listing, Denver was ranked at ninth place with a letter grade of A-. Seattle, Washington took the top slot with an A+ grade followed by: (2) San Francico, California, A+, (3) Oakland, California, A, (4) Washington, DC, A, (5) Salt Lake City, Utah, A-, (6) Reno, Nevada, A-, (7) Portland, Maine, A-, (8) Atlanta, Georgia, A- and finally, (10) Minneapolis, Minnesota, A-.
In the Least Active category go Aurora ranked at 28th and Colorado Springs at 29th. At 100th, the top least active city: Lexington, Kentucky.
Men’s Health looked at where and how often people exercise, the percentage of households that watch more than 15 hours of television a week and buy more than 11 video games per year. They also looked at the death rate from deep-vein thrombosis, a medical condition linked to heavy sitting.
