Dmitry Medvedev's driving skills have been called into question after a freak incident last week in which the Russian president emerged from the driver's seat of a black Mercedes SUV without putting the automobile into park first.
As Reuters is reporting, a clearly distressed Medvedev frantically tried to hold the car back before a pack of burly bodyguards stepped in and managed to stop the vehicle just before it bore down into the gasping crowd in Kazan, a city east of Moscow.
Though no one was reported hurt, the gaffe has quickly drawn some acerbic comments about Medvedev's driving abilities since video surfaced on the Internet. "Who is this guy to hold the reins of a country if he cannot even drive a car," one YouTube user reportedly wrote.
