NMSU Student Wins 3rd At Coney Island Hotdog Eating Contest

Who knew that college students could inhale massive amounts of food in less than 10 minutes? (This is a joke.)

Stephanie Torres, however, can now officially beat any hungry sophomore in the middle of a 3am binge.

Torres, a student at New Mexico State University, got third place in the first ever Nathan's Famous Women's Hot Dog Eating World Championship in Coney Island this Monday, July 4th.

Torres ate 28 1/2 hotdogs, which is, of course, alot. She still could not beat the "Black Widow" of competitive eating, Sonya Thomas, who ate 40 hotdogs, blowing away her competition.

Competitive eating may become a more official past-time for college students after the establishment of National Collegiate Competitive Eating Association.
