Noticeably missing when Emily Maynard sat down with "The Bachelorette" host, Chris Harrison, Monday night was the two time bachelor himself, Brad Womack. It was a drama filled evening, that was actually filmed last month in Los Angeles, when Emily spoke for the first time about why their relationship didn't work and never camera shy Brad was nowhere to be seen.
"Brad was invited to the taping but passed," an ABC insider tells me. "The producers had hoped for another Jake and Vienna battle where each side attacked each other while the cameras rolled but after becoming a seasoned pro with how reality tv works, Brad said thanks but no thanks."
Taking the high road, Maynard told People that she thought it was too hard for him to return.
"He wants privacy just as much as I do," she said. "The only reason [I did it] is because I don't want people following me anymore. I have a daughter I have to protect. That was my main reason for coming here. If I didn't have that I would have just let it ride and never been on TV again."
But insiders tell me to not expect the same from Brad.
"He loves the attention and being on TV," a source close to Brad tells me. "No one does a reality show twice and then decides they hate being on camera. Expect to see him back on TV soon, just not with Emily sitting next to him."
We expect nothing less from the serial bachelor.
