Margaret Cho Talks Latest Album 'Cho Dependent' And Its Serious Indie Cred (VIDEO)

EXCLUSIVE: Margaret Cho Talks Latest Comedy/Music Album

Margaret Cho has been a comedian, actress, activist, author and more throughout her career. Last year, she added "singer/songwriter" to that list with the release of her comedy/pop album "Cho Dependent."

Never one to leave her vision unfulfilled, Cho enlisted many top talents from the world of indie music, including Andrew Bird, Jon Brion, Ani DiFranco, Ben Lee and Tegan and Sara to write and perform with her on the album. "Cho Dependent" was nominated for a 2010 Grammy as Best Comedy Album. The result was a very unique sound -- Cho may be the only musician who cites both David Bowie and "Weird Al" Yankovic among her primary influences.

We learned that nugget and more when we talked to Cho at SiriusXM, where she did a spot on the Raw Dog Comedy show "Saturday Mornings with Mark Says Hi!" Her interview on that show will be rebroadcast on Channel 99, SiriusXM, on Wed., July 20, at 2 p.m. EST.

Video clips of "Eat Shit and Die," featuring Grant Lee Phillips, and "Captain Cameltoe," featuring Ani DiFranco are courtesy Clownery Records.
