Porn Viewing Put On Hold In Adult Section Of The Jefferson County Library (UPDATE)

Jefferson County Public Library officials say they cannot control what adults choose to view, according to reports by 9News and the Associated Press. Therefore, they say, porn viewing is acceptable in the adult section of the library with a privacy screen.

UPDATE:

KDVR reports the Jefferson County Library Board has voted 4-0 to block library access to all porn sites while they search for a program that blocks images only.

EARLIER:

Some parents are upset about it however and say that it shouldn't be allowed because their children may be inadvertently exposed to it if they walk past the adult section.

In one case, a woman and her five-year-old were walking by and saw a 17-year-old allegedly masturbating while watching pornography.

"We follow the law. If the law allows access to certain information that you or I might find objectionable, we allow patrons to access it," Library spokeswoman Rebecca Winning told 9News.
