Shack Shake Grand Central, Middle East Rumors Fly

Just last week, HuffPost Food brought you what we thought was a comprehensive list of in-the-works Shake Shack outposts. But since then, a lot has happened in Shackworld.

The Westport Shack on our list opened to the public to great fanfare. And today, there were rumors of NINE new Shake Shacks. First, DNAinfo reported that Shake Shack is planning on moving into the heart of Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan, just 20 blocks north of the original location in Madison Park. Then Arabian Business brought us the news that Alshaya, Union Square Hospitality Group's local partner in the Middle East, was prepping to open eight more locations across the Middle East, in addition to the two already they've already opened.

A call to USHG headquarters was not immediately returned, so we can't confirm the rumors. But if this is true, it would point towards really monumental things for the future of Shake Shack. Is a global mega-chain inconceivable?
