Nnamdi Asomugha, Eagles Agree To 5-Year Deal

Who saw this one coming? According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles surprised the league and reached an agreement with star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

Per the report, Asomugha's deal is worth $60 million for five years.

Earlier on Friday, the former Oakland Raider had apparently narrowed his decision down to two teams, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets.

Later in the day, the Cowboys spent their money on resigning Marcus Spears and the Jets spread the word that they were out of the running.

The Eagles made another transaction on Thursday, signing quarterback Vince Young to play a backup role behind Michael Vick.

Earlier this week, Philadelphia traded backup quarterback Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Now, the Eagles have Asomugha, Rodgers-Cromartie and Asante Samuel in their secondary.
