The crew of Put This On, "a web series about dressing like a grown-up" swung through New York last fall for the annual meeting of The Corduroy Appreciation Club, which "wishes to cultivate good fellowship by the advancement of Corduroy awareness, understanding, celebration and commemoration of the fabric and all related items".
Watch below as Club members field questions from funnyman Dave Hill, who wears velvet instead of corduroy and wonders "How do you think corduroy's changed since the events of September 11th?" and "Wouldn't you say corduroy's velvet's bitch?"
The Club is gearing up for The Date Which Most Closely Resembles Corduroy EVER, 11/11/11. Go here for original corduroy poetry, here for the Cordulog and here if you've been waiting your whole life to find others who love corduroy as much as you and you want to join the group.
(And BONUS! The last segment of the video goes inside the New York apartment of the one of the world's most elegant men, writer Gay Talese. Watch as he discusses the importance of dressing up and as he shows off pictures of him with Martin Luther King Jr., Joe Dimaggio and President Eisenhower.)
