San Francisco Weekend Agenda: SF Opera, Street Food Festival, Philip Glass

Get ready for lots of comedy, music and food this weekend. If you haven't biked around the SF Zoo, make it your goal to bring the family along, or better yet -- take a lovely weekend trip down to Carmel for the awesome Philip Glass music fest.

FRIDAY
What:
Henson Alternative: Stuffed and Unstrung
Why: Don't miss this SF Sketchfest highlight -- 80 Miskreant Puppets from Jim Henson Company and six comedians come together for one gigantic laugh-o-rama.

What: Days and Nights Festival Opening Celebration
Why: Renowned composer Philip Glass launches his inaugural Days and Nights Festival. Expect an endless flow of music, film, poetry, music, and dance at this two-week extravaganza.

What: Credo community partner prix fixe
Why: For every prix fixe dinner sold Credo will donate $5 to Spot.us, this month's community partner. If you believe in community funded reporting, here's your chance to make a difference in the world of journalism.

SATURDAY
What: Third Annual San Francisco Street Food Festival
Why: La Cocina's mega street food fest promises awesome international grub from 60 vendors. Get there early to avoid long lines.

What: BikeAbout at San Francisco Zoo
Why: Bring the family and bikes along for this fun docent-led cycling tour. Get an intimate and early bird look at all the animals as they start their day.

SUNDAY
What: Make your own flubber
Why: Learn to make your own homemade flubber! This event is held in honor of The Absent-Minded Professor, their film screening of the month.

What:SF Opera at Stern Grove
Why: If you haven't been to Stern Grove's concert series, this is your last chance this year. Internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick will be leading the stellar (and free!) show. Go a few hours early and set up a picnic with your buddies.
