Mark Jackson, Warriors Head Coach, Friends With Alleged Drug Trafficker

On June 10, Mark Jackson was introduced as the new coach of the Golden State Warriors. His wife and four children were not with him at the announcement, but Jackson was not alone. Beside him stood his close family friend, Warren Braithwaite. Four days later, Braithwaite was arrested for allegedly orchestrating a major marijuana trafficking ring, according to SFGate.

Besides being a close friend of Jackson's, Braithwaite is also the head usher at True Love Worship Center International, the non-denominational church where Jackson is a founder and pastor. "I have not seen one piece of evidence that Brother Warren is the person police say he is," said Jackson, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The Oakland Tribune reported that a DEA sting caught the ring distributing thousands of pounds of marijuana internationally. Braithwaite has also been linked to Jaime Foxx and Lady Gaga.

But, though the Warriors have declined to comment, Jackson is sticking by his friend. "Our prayers, thoughts and love and with Warren and his family."
