'Today' - 'Leisure Diving' Becomes The Newest Craze Replacing 'Planking'
Forget planking, a newer and even more ridiculous internet meme is taking the internet by storm. 'Today' correspondent Kristen Dahlgren takes a look at the digital photography trend that's making a big splash online. Photos of fully clothed divers pretending to recline in mid air appear as Dahlgren explains, "It's called leisure diving, and the photo pranks are popping up everywhere." Roommates Alex Scott and John Lewis say they founded the trend by accident. "I jumped in and totally smacked the water. It really hurt. And I got out and said, I'm like, 'I'm never going to do that again!'" Lewis explains - then he saw the hilarious photo.
That inspired the duo to create LeisureDive.com, a website where users share their own elaborate photos. "Millions have visited the site to check out photos capturing costumed divers in that magical moment, suspended over water, sleeping, eating, shaving," Dahlgren explains as these incredibly elaborate prank photos appear.
