The woman, a 19-year-old identified only as Nisreen, admits she murdered 11 Libyan rebels, all prisoners of the Gaddafi regime, before she escaped. "They brought one person in at a time and said, 'Shoot him,'" she said. "There was someone on either side of me and one behind, and they all said, 'If you don't shoot, we will shoot you.'
Nisreen, who says she was forcibly taken from her cancer-stricken mother, also went on to describe her experiences candidly and in grisly detail: "I would turn my head away and shoot, and then I saw the blood dripping. It just kept flowing." She added that all of the women in her unit -- including herself -- were raped, but forbidden to speak about it.
While the rebels plan to put her on trial, many are said to pity her. As one of her doctors noted, "When I saw her, I thought that she looked like a kid. Her face is so young, innocent, totally innocent."
